Family Focused Support Network for Autism and Developmental Disabilities

Providing Family Assistance to Manage Behavioral Issues

Aspiranet knows that sometimes families need help managing behavioral issues in order to maintain a happy, stable household. Family Focused Support Network (FFSN) provides intensive case management and behavioral services to assist families and children who are challenged by developmental disabilities.

Individuals from ages 2 to 35 who demonstrate issues with aggression, hygiene, bolting, rigidity and communication are referred to FFSN for assistance. Each child and his or her parents receive personalized support from FFSN members, ensuring that behavioral issues are effectively addressed and resolved.

Small teams of three work intimately with families to help children develop important skills, thus creating a stable family environment. The Aspiranet Social Worker works directly with each family to provide case management services, support and coaching services focused on parenting and family issues. The Aspiranet Developmental Supervisor completes a comprehensive assessment and develops a plan with each family to focus on managing disruptive behaviors. An Aspiranet Intervention Specialist is assigned to each youth to works one-on-one, both in the community and in the home.

Aspiranet’s FFSN services are provided in Monterey, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano Counties, serving approximately 160 families. Annually, the FFSN team aids approximately 130 youth a year. FFSN yields many successful results, including a decrease in tantrums and aggression, a decrease in rigidity and increase in patience, a decrease in run-aways and increase in community safety, an improvement in hygiene, a decrease in power struggles and improvement in parenting skills, and an improvement in communication, all resulting in family harmony.

If you or someone you know is in need of behavioral services, e-mail or call today for more information. Services are provided in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Monetary donations are welcome and would assist in underwriting social events that benefit youth with autism and/or other developmental disabilities.
